History

The very first team of Drummondville in the League: the Rangers

The Drummondville Rangers were one of the QMJHL original franchises. They operated in the League for 5 seasons.

The most recognizable figures of the franchise over the years: forwards Pierre Plante, Yvon Lambert, Michel Archambault, Claude Larose; defensemen Jean Hamel and Guy Provost. Goaltender André Lepage was amongst the team's biggest assets. He was named a QMJHL second team All-Star in back-to-back seasons (1972-73 and 1973-74).

After missing the playoffs for two consecutive years, the Rangers left the QMJHL at the conclusion of the 1973-74 season.

Later, in 1982-83, a new franchise will come in Drummondville. It will not be a comeback for the Rangers, but the Voltigeurs will born…
