The arrival of the Drakkar: 1997
The Drakkar joined the QMJHL in 1997, bringing the total number of teams in the league to 15 at the time.
Under Richard Martel as head coach, the franchise won two conference championships (2000-01 and 2002-03) and a League championship in 2002-03 after winning 50 games.
In 2006-07, with 125 points, François Bouchard became the second Drakkar player to win the Jean-Béliveau Trophy as the QMJHL's top scorer in the regular season. He succeeded Joël Perrault (116 points | 2002-03).
However, the single-season points record remains that of Yanick Lehoux (135 | 2000-01);
Lehoux is also the best scorer in the history of the Drakkar with a harvest of 382 points.
